The Best Gift You Can Give This Holiday Season!

With the holidays approaching I would like to make a special offer for people looking for a unique gift for loved ones. I would like to offer custom logos for small businesses for $200. When you buy one of these designs for family or friends you will be emailed a printable voucher you can slip into a card or wrap as a gift. It shows several farm logo examples and explains how to redeem the creative process for their own logo (my contact information, how the logo creation teamwork works). Design work has become the backbone of this farm this year with book deals and writing income being harder and harder to come by. It keeps this story going here, the lights on, the animals fed, and my spirit strong.

My goal is to sell five of these vouchers this week. This money will go towards two things: the bulk will go towards keeping this farm legally mine and paying the mortgage and feed bills for the animals. But a portion of these sales will be set aside and used to support Heifer International - my favorite charity - giving the gift of food and entrepreneurship to people all over the world who need it most. $25 of each sale will go towards purchasing a goat or sheep for a family across the globe. It seems like the right thing to do - to make part of your gift and this community reach father.

I will also throw in a free voucher to attend a workshop of your choice held here at Cold Antler Farm, both for you the purchaser and for the person receiving the logo gift. Which means not only do you get a professional custom design, but help a stranger across the world, and are invited to come see the woman and animals you are supporting here in Jackson.

So in summary: You get a printable voucher for a logo to be designed in 2016 ($300-500 regular price), a workshop pass for you and your gift ($200 value), and part of the money goes towards a family in need that can start raising livestock where farm animals are needed most.

This is so great! I think I have seen that charity before but I'm going to bookmark it this time! I'm too broke to breathe so I can't donate now and definitely can't buy a logo (don't need one yet anyway) but I am super stoked to have been reminded of this charity!

You are welcome, and they also offer smaller gifts like flocks of chickens and ducks. A great thing to give!

Hey there! I think the last Bircthorn update went out a month ago? About 15 chapters are available to read on the website (45k words or so) and the novel's last chapters are all written and the book is done and I am having trouble getting it to a place i am proud of. Soon as I can wrap up the loose ends it goes off to Heather the editor in NJ and then once edited, laid out and send to all $10 or higher backers as an ebook. Then it gets printed in paperback and hardcover for folks who purchased at higher levels. It takes up to 6 weeks to edit, so things are behind schedule but I would rather work slower on a novella I am excited about than push out something I rushed.

Jenna, did you design the goat logo for the charity? Is your work all black and white or do you do color too?

We are getting hammered with high winds. No chicken is safe! (from blowing away)

I would be careful of your so called followers. Within seconds to hours of Elizabeth's question and your answer it showed up cut and paste on Meredith's blog.

I hate seeing what they are doing and how they are treating you over there, justified or not. Please be sure that there are some of us that support what you are doing!

Thanks Savage, I don't go to her site. It creeps me the hell out. Ever since she reposted pictures from my facebook that showed my cleavage and there was slut shaming I realized what her deal actually was and I stay away. There isn't a lifestyle blogger out there without a couple pages on GOMI and sites like hers. Look at what Heather Armstrong has to deal with... http://dooce.com/hate/

Recreational offense at bloggers is mostly adorable and hard to take seriously, especially in a world with rapists, serial killers, pedophiles, mass shootings, bombings, drought, starving children and wars. Yet that little angry group on that site has chosen to focus their outrage on me, a single woman living alone in the woods who owes people yarn refunds, is taking too long on a novel's estimated completion time, and had livestock die. Yup. I'm a monster.

When I read your comment I let out an audible "awww" and bless their hearts, but the intensity/obsession does wig me out.

Well I'll be a monkey's uncle. That didn't take long. ;p

It's sounds like she has an obsession with you beyond her monetary complaint. As do all her mean girl followers. It's like watching the movie in real time. Bwahahaha....

I actually went to her blog thinking there was something educational and I could learn about homesteading or farming. I call bull shit. It's a hate site!
