The Cold Antler Farm VLOG is here!

Hey guys! So twice a week Gibson and I'll be posting these vlogs (video blogs) to answer your questions about my farm life (or homesteading in general) and talking real life homesteading, the down and dirty as well as the up and clean. Right now the plan is for new videos twice a week, the first one being a place to answer your questions and comments and the second one to be less about Q&A and more of a talk on one topic. Your suggestions for topics, your questions, anything you can suggest would be a help. So let me know what you want me to talk about!

The above video is just an introduction, but gives you an idea of whats to come. For my next vlog, let me know what questions you have? You can comment here or over on Youtube. You can also talk to me on twitter (@coldantlerfarm). As your questions and I'll pick ones to answer. Get excited for a whole new way of experiencing Cold Antler Farm! And expect the web show to be updated often if folks start taking interest. So enjoy!

Dog's having fun! I've always wondered what your house is like? Never seen any interior pics, and you talk about freezing all winter...

I love it! It reminds me of a news reel or a documentary. The music is great. I could see this as the next big thing for you. You have a great sense of humor which definitely helps. I imagine it's a bit like acting. The part about the chicken butts....hysterical.

Fabulous! I guess my first question would be what do you wish you knew before you bought your farm? I know we can't go backward, and everything serves a purpose, but would you have prepared differently in some way before making the leap? Thanks. ;0)

What a cool idea! I'd love to see a topic-talk about a normal day caring for Italics. Not just the exciting part of hunting him, but the "boring" details of day-to-day care, off-season training, that sort of thing. What does he do all day while you're otherwise occupied?

All chickens have butts!! Too funny! I loved the whole video. Great job! So you are going to be raising your own piglets now?

This is great! You´re a natural.

I´d like a segment on each activity you have on the farm. Where you started, where you are, lessons learned and what your future plans are. Chickens, sheep, pigs, goats, bees, kaleyard, etc.

Great, very fun! I like the music, too. I'd like to hear more about how you manage your pig production, 'cause I seem to have missed the move from two pigs a year to four at a time, and now breeding plans. I'm curious as to timing of purchasing piglets and slaughter, seeing the area where they live, and how much you raise for barter or sale vs. how much you keep.

Great video! You know what would be fun is for your to document your day and post clips of it - like a series over a month or something. Just like when you do the "what I did today" written posts.

Would you be willing to talk about how you make cider (either in vlog or written answer)? My husband and I are going to try making cider in the next few days with some organic apples that we picked right here in Juneau, Alaska! It is our first attempt at homebrewing, so we are not quite sure where to start.
