shearing snapshots

We just picked up our lambs today! TOO cute and very close to to having the worlds best smell! Unfortunately they are not staying for long, the kiddos are raising them as market lambs for 4-H. BUT I certainly do see more sheep in the future! Can't wait to shear them and use the wool!

I adore the 'before' shot! All those dirty, long haired bums, plus Sal, and the pure, clean lamb! What a lovely day! Again the beat a point to death-as so many followers do-wish we lived closer to fully partake in the CAF activities.... For now annual Antlerstock will have to suffice! I also have a *lil* surprise for you.... From the innaugaral event....

Sheep are so hilarious. I had about 22 head in my little flock years back and at shearing time they have the attitude of: "I'm dead. Go ahead and have your way with me now". I see that same Borg mentality in your photos!! ha.
I always said they have one collective brain, and it is none too big!

HI Jenna,

I got a hold of your books and have handed them out to people who I know will be equally as inspired as I was. Thanks for sharing your life with people.

My husband, little boy and I are on a road trip around the states. Would you by chance be open to visitors? It would be so great to meet you and see your farm.

here's our travel blog:

It looks like everyone had a blast. But what was nailed to the tree? I'm sure it's something obvious but I've never been to a sheep shearing so I'm not sure what it is or does. Thanks for the answer and the pictures.
