It's so funny. I did that around 3, but as it got darker out the coop was still so bright outside, and all the new reds and leghorns were in a huddle outside. It looked like they were looking at the lights. Made this tough gal smile.

That looks better than the half-assed job I did on our house last year.

Since we don't have a lot of lights and I can't get my husband excited about Christmas, I've decided that this year I'm outlining the door in lights and putting up a wreath (of sorts) and calling it done.

If I'm lucky, it'll look as good as your hen house.

picture perfect...totally puts me in the christmas mood!

i've been tempted to do the same...but that means springing for an extension cord and lights...when i should expand the coop and put up plastic around the fencing as a wind break.

i get so paraniod the chickens are cold. do you use anything in particular to warm the flock or to prevent their water from freezing?
