Oh dear. I've been in bed myself the last three days with a rotten cold. Hubby has been exercising the dog and feeding the pigs...made me think of you and how you would manage if you got sick. I know from having kids that you always find a way, but it can't be easy. Hope you get well soon.

Sorry to hear that. I hope you feel better soon.

I like to eat extra berries..any kind of berries..blueberries, strawberries..cherries..whatever is available. It works well for me when I'm feeling under the weather.

Feel better soon. Here's to a quick recovery :) :) :)

Sincerely, Heather H :) :) :)

In the meantime, drink tea made from ginger, thyme, lemon and honey. The ginger and thyme should be chopped, and brought to the boil with the water. Add some more thyme, lemon and the honey to the decoction off the heat. If you are really sick , or can muster the courage, add crushed garlic with the honey. The garlic is a bit much, but with or without, this tea will cure anything!

Praying that you will feel better soon. This is when being single is a real drag. Wouldn't be nice to have a big, strong husband to take care of you and the critters? Hope some local friends offer some help.

Ugh. And livestock just. doesn't. care.

Here's wishing you several hours of peaceful oblivion (i.e. uninterrupted naptime). Perhaps with a puppy snuggled up close.

Being sick and still needing to take care of your livestock just gets you ready for motherhood. There's no such thing as a sick day then, either. Hope you're feeling better soon!!

Umcka- made from the roots of an African geranium, it causes the nasal passages to shed the germs that are invading them. This results in symptoms of lower intensity and duration, and if you catch it early enough, can prevent you from getting sick at all.

I forgot all about it at Christmas when I came down with something that took four weeks to finally shake, but when my husband started exhibiting the same exact symptoms (headache, raging sore throat, etc.) a month after that, I remembered we keep Umcka in the cupboard, and I started him on it. He never did get sick.

Umcka is by Nature's Way and comes as drops, lozenges, syrup, or packets of lemony stuff you dissolve in hot water. I can't recommend it enough because it works practically like magic. Even if you can't drag yourself to the store this time, put it on your list for next time.

And then remember to take it, of course, when you start to feel crappy.
