We've had five inches of snow here which is tons for us. As we walked through the grounds of the Abbey I couldn't help but think of Jazz and Annie and how fab it must be to be behind such great dogs!

Jenna, Could you tell us a bit about your interesting sled? Perhaps you have in the past but this is the first time I have seen it. Did you fabricate it or have some else do that or is it "store bought"? It looks so different and appears that it would work great too. Boy, would I love to take a spin on it! Good luck with the "farming buying" progress.

It's a kicksled, ordered from Canada back when I was in highschool. like these http://www.kicksled.com/home.htm

but a lot of people and mushers make them. Great for one or two dogs, and folds flat.

My cousin used to run sled dogs in Ely, Minnesota. I visited him one winter and will never forget that silent "whoosh" of absolutely flying through the snow and watching those beautiful dogs do what they do best. It still gives me shivers.

Amy ~ We have lived with sled dogs for 10 years now. Every day is an adventure in beauty and being the closest you can possibly be to nature. We have 18 ~ and 4 house dogs. Each one is incredible and provides us with an amazing musher lifestyle.

Jenna, may I suggest that you make a calendar or picture-book of all your photos? They are so lovely and nostalgic, and I would be the first to buy them--that's a promise!

Jenna,
Abi just posted some great pictures of Finn playing in the snow (SpiderWomanKnits). Looks like he is having fun. I think that the calendar idea sounds great. You have posted such wonderful pictures. Thanks for taking the time to share your life on your blog. Happy New Year from Virginia.

Beautiful! I love your scenic pictures...it inspires me to get out there and take more of my own, despite the frigid temps.

Thank you Amy. How wonderful to be living in Mankato, Minnesota. ;)

Jenna ~ We did a calendar with our sled dogs. (And our horses...) Good idea for next year for you.
