Name That Book!
My publisher and I are trying to come up with a title for my next book. We were going to call it Days of Grace, but it turns out that is already taken. So we need a new title. I would love your ideas! Here's what the book is about: a month-by-month tour of seasonal life here at Cold Antler. It starts in October and goes through the agricultural year. It is part memoir, part illustrations, part song and folkways. It'll be a beautiful book, a chunky and personal story of a year with nothing you read here first (unless I posted an excerpt) - You'll read about learning to drive horses and see charts and illustrations and then perhaps find the sheet music to God Speed the Plough all in the same month. So what we need is the name for this CAF-specific journal of the seasons. What you got, Antlers?

Why not Seasons of Grace?
Why not Seasons of Grace?
Two thoughts: Year of Grace or Through the Seasons. Alternatively, what is the Scottish word for grace? Could you put a Scottish spin on a title? Days of Gras (I googled the meaning, so apologies in advance if gras isn't the right translation!)
Too bad, it sounds like a great title. Could you still use it if you prefaced it with something like Living the Days of Grade or Reflections on Days of Grace or Shepherding the Days of Grace?
A turn of the antler?
One Year Antler
"Welcome to Cold Antler Farm"
Simple. On brand. An invitation to come live and work along side you.

You could call it "The Rhythms of the Farm" which would tie in not only to the changing seasons but your music as well!

Grace is but glory begun and glory is but grace perfected.

I don't have a title for you, but somehow the word "scrappy" popped into my head. It's a word you use a lot and one I've come to associate in a positive way with CAF. Not sure this is helpful but it's what I've got. Good luck!
Seasons of Grace at Cold Antler Farm
Can't there be more than one book with the same title? What about adding a subtitle or the like?

How about Cold Anteler Farm's Book of Days? - the model being the lavishly and colourfully illuminated manuscripts made by monks during the medieval period to mark the Church's religious year.
How about "Leap Of Faith"? After all, that's what it took for you to be where you are.

Jenna,
I'd name the book...
"Adventures' on the Mountain @ CAF".
Whatever you name the book I'm
looking forward to reading it.
You write a terrific blog which I read often for many things;
but the most important reasons are your determination, & inspiration showing that anyone can do this too.
Thanks so very much. Yes, I know you've heard that before.

Hearthside at Cold Antler Farm:
A memoir by Jenna W.
Whenever I read the blog I picture you cozied up by the wood stove while you type away. The hearth is the heart of the home, what keeps the home running. You tell your stories by the fire, play your music by the fire, cook your harvest on the fire. The hearth bekons me to pull up a chair, grab a blanket and listen to a good story. Just what I would do with your book! :) Good luck with the name finding!
Josh and Haley win my vote with Hearthside at Cold Antler Farm. But I would drop the word Farm. Hearthside at Cold Antler.
I tell stories under the name Hearthtales - Hearth Tales would be a good title, as well.

As previous comments have noted, seems a shame if you couldn't include Days of Grace somewhere in the title.....
"Grace" is not something I associate with CAF, but you seem intent on using that word in your title, so might I suggest the following:
"Nothing Graceful About It:
My New Life at Cold Antler Farm."
Calendar of Grace?

Maybe just add a word...Days of abundant grace.
Grace Notes, A Year on a Mountain Farm
Days of grace: dispatches from cold antler farm
I agree that Grace is not something very CAF. Days of GRace was one of the holidays in the book and the holiday that inspired it, so that was why it was the title. It's better to sound like a book of days, an almanac, or something about seasonal life than to use the word grace or anything religious.

I haven't commented much, but I love your blog. May I suggest
"Harvest to Harvest: a year at Cold Antler"
good luck with the book and finding a title.
May I suggest,

Cold Antler Grace, or Life on the Farm (subtitle recalls Walden's subtitle, Life in the Woods)

Could call it The Busy Season--which all year is, if you're a small farmer.

Jenna, I disagree with many of the folks. I see the grace in your life and what you do with every post. As a fellow farmsteader, grace is in every breath, every season, the opportunity to do what you love and the spirit that comes through. You show me the grace in my own life. Thanks
