We're watching up here in Ontario, too! Our premier just resigned so we will have a provincial election soon. My town councillor also just resigned, and my union elections are tonight! Some would be annoyed at having three elections to deal with, but I am grateful.
It makes me reel when I think that when my house was built, I would not have even had the right to vote.
I don't know how people, especially women, can take that privilege for granted.

I second your message. Voting is an honor and priviledge and I hope I am never so jaded to think my vote is meaningless. Our little town hall was packed today---a giant turnout.

Here in central New Jersey we voted...although due to Hurricane Sandy our polling place was moved to the local high school.

Some of our usual polling places still have no electricity or have been damaged or are places like fire houses.

It made so many of us even more determined to vote and it was nice to see neighbors that we haven't seen since the hurricane struck.

I'm not American, so I can't, but I don't think I've ever wished more that I could.

I voted! But in a big, sprawling suburban school, and from leaving my car to getting back in - about 4 minutes.

My husband and I both voted today. We were especially excited to vote for the amendment that will protect Kentuckians rights to hunt and fish.

It makes me swell with pride every time I go to the polls to vote. We're so fortunate in America to have the right to choose who runs the country. What I don't have the right to do is complain about an elected official if I didn't bother to cast a vote. My choice is not always the one who wins, but I feel strongly that I have a responsibility to let my voice be heard by voting.

ps - Just wondering, sometimes I see a tiny trashcan beside the date on my comments. What does that mean?

Just back from voting along with some of the biggest crowds I've ever seen at a polling place. Bodes well for the future.

I took advantage of early voting a couple weeks ago. I get to be lazy until I have to go in to work.
