Happy Thanksgiving!

Woke up at 4AM for another morning of hunting, no luck, but I did get this beautiful photo of Defiance texted to me from Patty right before he got rubbed up with oil and herbs and set into the oven! My day will involve pie baking, nap taking, and a later dinner with friends at Livingston Brook Farm. A day of food and friends is a blessing indeed. Both me and the turkey wish you a happy, warm, and safe Thanksgiving! Cheers!

Happy Thanksgiving!! We're having a harvest party here. Thanks to your blog I grew 90% of the veggies we're going to eat. Last night I spent hours prepping and roasting my harvest. My first garden this year was for this one meal. It felt like such an accomplishment. Before each dish made its way into the oven I sad a small prayer for them to taste as good as good as imagine. So far so good! I made marshmallows to top my homegrown yams! It'll be yummy!

Happy Thanksgiving to all of you in the USA. We have had yet another 'day of grace' here over a week of them now!
Tonight I'm celebrating your holiday with a locally grass fed strip loin of beef and the other in the package has been cut into bite sized pieces and is cooking up in a beef barley soup for the weekend. The last major recall in Canada of supermarket beef supplied by a slaughterhouse that processes thousands of head of cattle per day sickened me, and in order to keep eating meat I've shifted completely to locally sourced and free ranging cuts of meat - my local Farm Market store is carrying this and the taste is a revelation!
Happy Thanksgiving to you all!!
