About Me

- Name: Jenna
- Location: Jackson, New York, United States
Enjoy the story of a young writer living in Washington County with her fancy dogs, sheep, lots of chickens, fiber & meat rabbits, geese, ducks, turkeys, a hive and a garden. Expect to hear a lot about mountain music, the civil war, local food, and my friends along the way. It's a big time folks.

Love it.
I was going to post on the garlic contest, but this one is so much more appropriate:
Thanks to you, I have just won 6 ribbons at my county fair: 3 blue, 2 red, and a white 3rd place ribbon. I entered 6 items, 3 each in the knitting and canning categories, and every item won.
I never would have done it were it not reading you blog, & remembering how you entered your Silkies in a contest a few years ago, and more recently with Merlin at the horse show this spring. You inspired me to get out of my complacency zone, shake off the idea that at 42 I am too old to be trying to venture into new things, and I thank you for it. After leaving the exhibition hall at the fair yesterday morning with my head spining & a huge grin on my face, I walked on air the rest of the day, blissfully spent mostly in the sheep/goat/alpaca/horse barns, undoubtedly happier than the 4-H kids who won their first ribbons.
I've yet to make a batch of soap that turned out (I was at the CAF soap workshop in July) but still keep trying & will do so until I accomplish a proper batch. And I'm already planning my county fair entries for next year.
Thanks, Jenna (and Henry).
