Wow Jenna! You have been a busy farmgirl! Good for you. I bet that feels great. It looks good too. Now can you come down to Georgia? I need some help!

Did you save any work for us to do at Antlerstock? I am so looking forward to being on the farm I can't even express how much Jason and I need the get away. Chopping wood is good therapy!

So how do you start using this pile, from the outside in, or from the inside out leaving a windbreak :) Or from one end to clear porch space. We no longer use wood heat but I remember using the windbreak method! Beth in Ky

So is that enough to make it through the winter? It looks about the same size as our pile, which I'm hoping will get us into December (of course, our home, family, in-home animal composition, wood stoves, weather, and willingness to wear warm clothing differ from yours)

Doggone, Jenna, it took me three months to get four cords of wood stacked. You ROCK, girlfriend!

So this is a cord and a half, and it will get me right into Jan with my two stoves, but I will be ordering another cord and harvesting more wood with Merlin and Brett at Antlerstock. It'll be a hoot! Now that stuff with be really green, so it won't be used until next year. If I get in a pinch I can use it sparingly in later winter, but it should season longer.

My favourite part about firewood, besides the warmth it provides is the smell. Not just the woodsmoke but the woodpile itself always smells soooo good!
