You know you're a CAF reader if:
You have watched every single episode of Victorian Farm on YouTube. Twice. You know the only "fantasy" element of this picture is the stupid horn.
When you see crows in pairs make, you smile.
When you hear the name Maude, you shiver.
You know more about Merlin than your third cousin.
You have considered buying a kilt to weed in.
You have laughed at a dog who hates dolls in windows. A lot.
You know what a "masonade" is.
You have used the word Veryork in conversation.
Iron and Wine is on your play list.
You can name towns that surround Jackson NY, easily.
"Jenna did it and isn't dead yet" has been said in your household.
Can you think of any others?

You know that Monday isn't just the name of the week.
You've contemplated backing bread in your livingroom.
You expect there to be paw prints in your books.
These are great. Gave me a big smile to know what each of them mean. I love it that you've shared so much of your life with it's ups and downs and so many accomplishments. Yes, I'm a reader and will always be ... well at least till you stop writing (which I hope is not for a long long time).
You have a spouse who anytime he sees you at the computer, asks "What's Jenna up to NOW?"
Beth in Ky
During a conversation with your mom she asks how Jenna is doing like she's your neighbor or best friend or that you've actually MET! lol
True story, that!
Jenna, Cathy and Ruthie are my three for tea?
(Hi Cathy)
btw - thanks to Ruth we have wormsign the likes of which even God has never seen. wish I could show you our courgettes...
hahah too true! my whole family knows you on a first name basis. It started with " there's this girl Jenna with a farm who's blog I read, and..." now it's just "mom! Jenna just quit her day job!!"
"Hey, darling, Jenna now has____" or "Jenna is now doing ______" or "look at the cutest video of the lamb"!
You know what a french toast basket is.
LOL! SO TRUE!!! ;)
"Jenna did it and isn't dead yet" has been said in your household.
This one made me laugh out loud! I will have to keep that saying in mind for a future proving my point. :-)
Grace and Peace,
John
paw prints on books and french toast baskets!
If you stumble out of bed every morning & turn the computer on so that you can read CAF's blog even before you've had your coffee. Your blog is definitely a lovely addiction.
You know your're a CAF reader if:
You know "Lammas" doesn't refer to a herd of animals.
Hehe great list! I know most, but not all of them. I'm relatively new here & haven't gone back and read many older entries.
Also, if when you watch and Ryan Gosling movie, but instead of waiting for him to take his shirt off, you can't help but think of Ryan the Gosling...
-Brandi
Victorian farm got taken off you tube in the middle of my watching them :( and it was such a good show.... I second moose hollow I am addicted even if I miss a day I sit for hours and try to catch up....
*you wait and wait and wait for lambs ;-)
I love them all (even the commenters!) and have done them all! Tried to watch Victorian (and Edwardian) on YouTube via our tv but was too choppy and kept freezing! :/ but I enjoyed what I did get to see! I have a guinea pig named Maude now and one to add to the list would be: you've looked into real estate in or near Veryork and googled "how to get a work visa"....
You get a jadite mug cause Jenna says coffee tastes better in it!!! You scour every garage sale looking for the pyrex with the chickens and farmers on it - cause Jenna uses them!!! A great addiction!!!!!
When you transport farm animals by CAR.
Remember the sheep in the Suburu?
When you transport sheep by Car.
Love this Jenna! You have inspired me to start my own farm blog.
http://winterfellfarm.blogspot.com/
Love it! I do read your blog every morning with my coffee. My girls (6 & 2) just got to get their first "livestock", a pair of breeding Angora rabbits they named Gnomeo and Juliet, mainly because of you! We live in the middle of a city and can't have traditional farm animals, but rabbits can be kept inside! I never would have thought of rabbits if I had never started reading your blog so many years ago! So thank you!
You are infected with the incurable condition--"Barnheart".
Knitting, writing, mountain music, archery and bonfires is a perfectly logical combination.
You know what the word vermiculture means.
also i was looking closer at that "stupid horn" ;) and it's part of the armour i think, which then kind of makes it ingenious for battles....

you get a rush at the mere thought of fall, dogsledding under a full moon on idaho's snow covered shoulders is a thing, there is no "spring season" any more it's lambing season, and nothing beats a cold cider after a hot summer's day sweating pure love and happiness into your soil....
You have searched thrift stores for an old fashioned coffee percolator so you can put a bar of chocolate in your morning coffee.
You search real estate ads for ag zoned property, even though you have no idea how you can afford it.
You name a rooster Sal, because he is such a nice guy.
You know Hallows Eve/Halloween is Jenna's very favorite holiday.
Please, what is a french toast basket?
You know you're a CAF reader, if you're in love with James Alexander Malcom McKenzie Fraser ;)
You never thought mountain music would find a way onto your iPod and suddenly you have the Show Ponies & Old Crow Medicine Show blaring from your truck speakers, while you're singing along!
Oh..and thank you to the intro to the Lumineers. Love, love, love!!
...when, as a 30 year old single woman, you know that owning a farm will be an eventual reality, not just a far away fantasy..."because Jenna did it and isn't dead yet!"
Thanks Jenna!
You know you're a CAF reader when you watch Jenna take a dream and with hard work and determination make it become a reality.
You know you're a CAF reader when your prayers include, "And God bless Jenna!" -Gail
You know you're a CAF reader when you get your first egg (from chickens procured because Jenna did it and didn't die and said I could too!) and the first person you think of telling is Jenna herself! Less than a year after at Antlerstock bringing a brand new egg in from the horse/pig/rabbit barn to Jenna's kitchen and saying "THIS is why I'm here!" as you hand it still warm to your host.
there are alot of Victorian shows on youtube THe victorian kitchen garden, the victorian flower gardn, the victorian kitchen... they are all so great :)
You know you're a CAF reader when your youngest daughter sends you a pic of her new huge chicken run and asks "Do Jenna's chickens have it this good?"
You name one of your first three chicks "Jenna" and she turns out to the nicest one. (We also have Novella and Ashley- all author-inspired!)
You buy Chick Days, your daughter commandeers it, and now she has 13 chickens!
Too funny! I was just coming on here to let you know that I saw a pair of crows as were driving down our laneway this morning and they made me think of you!
Well, I have 9 out of the original 12. Getting ready to google masonade, victorian farm, and iron & wine.
I would add:
You find yourself picking up new hobbies like your dogs pick up ticks. (homebrewing, chickens, archery, fiddle playing,...)
Oh.... MASON-ade. Got it. Okay, I get 9.5 because I've had it, even though I didn't know it had a name. ;)
Yep. I connected with several of those!
You have laughed at a dog who hates dolls in windows. A lot.
This is my favorite! :D
I would add that I talk to my husband about you as if he knows you too. He is unfazed by this.
If you love anything enough to watch it several times on youtube way not buy the show and support the makers?

Then you can share hard copies with like minded friends and neighbors.

When you visit a friend's house for the first time, instead of admiring their living room furniture, you're evaluating their yard for size, soil, and sunlight, in case you can talk them into homesteading.
1st when your from TX An you know what a dulcimor is ... Then your in western NC and you see an dulcimor shop ...Stop the truck to go see a real one and the sign on the door says probable hours still not open... Then try back laser LOL
............if you've ever entered a contest for the best mason jar 0cozy/insulator/handle attachment.
And had neighbors, friends, family, etc shake there heads when you explained what you were "making"..............
If your husband doesn't follow that blog, but he knows that Jenna brought Merlin the pony home for her birthday, and that Monday the lamb is bottle fed and follows Jenna around.
ROTFL!!!

You've Gotta read This!!! (and i hand over my copy of Made from Scratch, let them read the 1st chapter then tell them to buy their own!!)
My oldest son - what's that kilted one in NY state up to?

:)
Victorian Farm - is this the same as Frontier House and the like that was shown on PBS quite a few years ago? I got them from the library a while back. Don't think I've seen this one. Apparently, youtube has taken it down. You can find it at topdocumentaryfilms dot com though. I know what I'm doing this week!
(thanks!)
Have you seen Frontier House? Looks like youtube is still allowing that one.. looks like moosegeek123 has a playlist on their channel.
There were a bunch of other shows - one set in England during WWII with all the rationing and everything. very cool. Another one set in the early pioneer days. Can't remember the names though...
