the mother of invention...

Little Monday is just like a woolen puppy...I love it! Hear the siren? The cute police are definitely on their way! lol

That is the coolest idea (no pun intended)...hey if you make that pool a lil bigger you'll have yerself a little outdoor cool-off hole (although I'm sure that water is shockingly cold). It'd sure wake yer arse up on those hard-to-get-started mornins!

If you put a box without a bottom in there you can keep the sun off of the milk in the daytime. This is what the Amish do with their milk and it keeps it perfectly cold. They use a metal box. Just something to think about for in the future. Like you don't have enough to do ;)

On the other end of the county from where I live there is a civil war era "spring house" built over one of those wells. The bottom is original dry stack stone about 3.5 feet high. The upper wooden frame stucture was rebuilt about 20 years ago, comfortable standing height inside. Beth in Ky.

I JUST did this last week! We lost power in Ohio during the wind storm and we transferred all of our dairy products to the spring house to keep them cool and fresh. I felt like I was living in the 1800's again, milk floating in cool water.
