lunch break

74 degrees today, and G spent his lunch break at Orvis swimming, fetching and shaking. I'm grateful as hell I can bring my dog to the office everyday. And even more grateful that there is land, ponds, and time to spend with him while I design websites and emails. Look at that boy fly. Thanks to Tim Bronson, who took these pictures today.

Were does G stay when your working? Are there other dogs in the office? My dogs would be all over the place.
Dog people park their trucks in the shade by the pond, during breaks we can go out and walk the dogs. Quite nice.
Beautiful! Beautiful!
Tim always takes great photos but these are spectacular!
Can I just say..... AWESOME ! What a beautiful sight (Great Photographer)
Do you have your own personal paparazzi follow you everywhere? I see that your photos are not by you.
I have a truck but no dogs, I have cats. Four of em. Where do the cat people park, out in the sun? And I have to say it'll be a cold day in you know where before any of my cats let me walk them! :)
BTW seeing how much joy Gibson was having put me in a place of joy. :D
Is Gibson easy to bathe or does he hide? We had a dachsund that would hide at the word "bath."
ha! baths!
gibson is only bathed if he is so muddy or covered in poo i wouldn't share my bed with him. i think she's had 3 baths in 2 years!
What a blessing to be able to keep your boy with you at work! Our dog Zelda looks at me every morning with hope in her eyes as I head out the door. Sigh.
@patsy our Dachshund follows me everywhere except to the third floor if he's heard the word "bath".
Jenna, I love how you can see Gipson's little foot pad as he commits to that jump!
Best lunch ever!
That first picture looks sorta strange at first, like G is just laying on the surface of the water. :)
Especially love the 2nd picture, but they're all great!
My lab's been wanting to swim ever since the air temp's gotten above 40. On a walk the other day I said "go swimming?" and he jumped into the water before I could even throw a stick in.
@patsy & kate...my dachsund gets low...thats something for a weinie dog. But at least he's easy to nab.
it's wonderful you can bring G with you ... what about the other dog? Does he have to stay home alone?
I am also curious about Jasper ... do you not ride him ever, or is he for helping around the farm...
let me end by saying how much I enjoy your blog, your pictures and your outlook. !!
Jazz and Annie are 13/14 and stay home. They are not allowed off leash in open spaces, as they run off and do NOT come when called. They'd be shot by farmer in a day.

as for jasper, he is about 500 pounds, tops. I weigh nearly 200 pounds! he is only 11 hands! So no, I don't ride him. He also is (how can I put this) a little wild under saddle. I feel much more comfortable riding a 1100 pound horse with 10+ yeas of training!
He carts, and does farm chores, and will retire to be Merlin's companion animal and a pet.
GREAT pics!
This makes my day! What lovely photos.
Jenna,
How do the two other dogs react when Gibson gets to go everywhere with you and they have to stay behind? Either of my two big guys would go nuts if they couldn't both be with me! Especially since they had you to themselves before G!
By the time Gibson and I are out the door they are back in bed! One mile walk a day and they are BEAT
I love the one of him drying off! What a fun life G has!
Great action shots Jenna!
Beautiful shots. I work from home and love playing with my pets (2 dogs, 3 cats) at lunch. My Bloodhound has fun in the pool on hot days, but my Basset gets very low and HEAVY when the word 'bath' is mentioned. She's nearly 75 lbs.
Wonderful photos. Dogs could teach us all so much about living in the present!
It's great that you can spend the time together that for most folks, is spent apart from their pets.
What a great way to spend lunch!
Working at Orvis - this fly fisher is green with envy....all that cool fishing gear.
LOVE these pics!
