drop spindle work party?
If any local folks would like to come by this Saturday for an indoor work party, I will be making 20 drop spindles and preparing wool for next weekend. It'll be a day of hand saws, wood glue, and wool but I'll make some good lunch and you can take home a spindle for yourself and pet a pony. 11-2pm, if you're free send me an email.
P.S. Folks coming to the first wool workshop, it is next Saturday the 28th at 10AM. Hope you are excited?!

Sadly, I am too far away to come to the party. But I wanted to say a quick thank you for recommending Joel Salatin's book "Folks, This Ain't Normal". I finished the audiobook yesterday - one of the best I've ever listened to :)
This sounds like my idea of a good time. Too bad I live on the other side of the country!
I read that as "you can take home a spindle for yourself and a pet pony." Lol I didn't know I was dyslexic!
Sounds great I wish I could come but I'm too far away.

I wish I lived closer, this sounds like such a great way to spend a Saturday, I really hope some are closer and get to enjoy it!!
-Beth I too read it as a pet pony LoL I had to read it twice!!
I don't know about the first workshop's participants, but I'm getting excited for the second workshop! Mary and I were just talking last night about travel logistics! grin

I feel badly now that I can't come, but live within 5hrs drive, guessing more like 4. But, another day. Honestly would if I could, but am jam packed myself this week. L.
I'm a bit far away to be a "local folk" but it sounds like the perfect way to spend a Saturday. I taught myself to knit last week and would love to learn more about the whole process. All in good time...
Wish attending the workshop was possible but we are in the PNW. Any chance you can post how to make a drop spindle? A friend gave me some of her llama's fur/hair trimmings and I'd like to spin them.
Either we all need to move to Veryork or Jenna needs to move closer to Seattle, San Diego, New Zealand, Missouri, Florida, UK, Arizona, Michigan...
This local folk is going to the NOFA conference on Saturday. Might see you at your book party on Sunday, though!
I've got time, Jenna. But I don't know where the new CAF is since you left Sandgate. Send me directions on fb and I'll be there. -Jeff Tornyos

I read it as I got to *take home* a pet pony!
I love that all of your pictures have books in the background. :)
lauren there are so many books in this house, and not one bookshelf!
How fun! I just learned how to drop-spindle last weekend and it is so addictive! If I lived a little closer, I would be there in a heartbeat. Maybe next time?
