Jenna- the female is too thin- and she is not eating with the voraciousness that the male is- I would feed them in separate bowls- if you watch she does not have her head in the bowl much at all- and he is hogging the food. Competition is good, but clearly by the size difference, he is getting the lion's share.
she's from a different litter, and about 2 weeks younger too. The food pot is never empty and she always digs in when he's done. But your advice is duly noted.
Hey Jenna. I have raised both male and female pigs. The 1st 6 were all cut males and they grew, well, like pigs. But the last 2 I had were both female and they were both small pigs. I will probably never get female pigs again just because of that. They grow slower in my opinion. And I want them to grow out fast so I don't have to keep them very long.
And there is always a "piggier" pig that gets more food. The 4 I had together, they all weighed different with the greedier one weighing the most.
I don't think she's ill, is what I was trying to say, just younger and smaller. I only had one female last year, all yorkshire, and she grew like mad! But next time, two cut males.
Live and learn, and even if she doesn't get as large she'll taste amazing.
Enjoy the story of a young writer living in Washington County with her fancy dogs, sheep, lots of chickens, fiber & meat rabbits, geese, ducks, turkeys, a hive and a garden. Expect to hear a lot about mountain music, the civil war, local food, and my friends along the way. It's a big time folks.

Good lookin' pigs there! :) I love watching Gibson's antics in all your videos; what a goofy dog. LOL.

Yeah, I'm with Kelpie. I'd definitely feed them separately, so the female can eat at her own pace. She'll probably gain if she gets to do that.
