The jars look great and are very creative. Looking forward to seeing your choice.
You mentioned in a recent post you were thinking about your garden for next year. I have a suggestion for some books on food preservation. Ball Blue Book and So Easy to Preserve from the Cooperative Extension at the University of Georgia. Go to their site, point to Food and choose Food Preservation from the drop down screen. Then click Publications, then click Preserving. Scroll down about half way and see title So Easy to Preserve. Or just call 706-542-2657. The book was worth the $18. I have done A LOT of canning and food preservation and this book was great.
Also have a recipe for organic bug spray: two handfuls of manure (manure that is like soil), 1/2 handful loose tobacco, and several crumbled up dried hot peppers (dried from last yr's harvest). Add to a bucket with 2 gallons water and let sit in the barn in the heat 2 -3 days. Leave the sludge in the bottom of the bucket, use the rest for bug spray. Only disadvantage is the need to spray almost daily.
I would be interested in other ideas for bug spray.
Jenna, while I haven't created anything like what you're looking for I did just stumble upon something and immediatly thought of you! http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1917107415/recap-mason-jar-caps?ref=video
I'm sure you have thought of this already - but at the conclusion of the contest I would love to see a listing of any etsy shops of your craftsman followers! I want one of each of these! Wendy
Enjoy the story of a young writer living in Washington County with her fancy dogs, sheep, lots of chickens, fiber & meat rabbits, geese, ducks, turkeys, a hive and a garden. Expect to hear a lot about mountain music, the civil war, local food, and my friends along the way. It's a big time folks.

NOv 15th!
and I hae the blue book, use it all the time. I'll look into that GA book.
I missed what the jars are for, but I love the covers!
it's a way to keep them warm with a hot drink inside, warm and portable. Basically making a thermos out of a quart jar, with homestead style!
Those are beautiful!
Mine is done but I haven't posted it yet- do we just email you a link?

I'm impressed by people's speed. There are some gorgeous ideas here already. I've got to put that thinking cap on.
Wow! Jenna, you really have great readers. So many creative people. I don't have one to add, but it sure is great to see so much talent.
