What a fine looking dog you have Jenna. I showed the picture to my Dad, and he thinks so too.

That wasn't taken with your iPhone, was it? Definitely looks like an HDR camera.

He *is* a handsome dog!

That's a straight-up photo taken with a Canon DSLR (and an L-series lens)... no fancy HDR trickery. I did have to postprocess the shot a bit to try to find a way to keep the background colors, sky, and contrasty, black-and-white dog in balance. Plus, I wanted to show off the autumn colors a little!

Fortunately, Gibson is used to me by now, and is a very patient subject.

That's "High Dynamic Range" photography... it's a way to shoot bright subjects and dark subjects at the same time—say, a beach at sunset. Or Darth Vader at a disco.

How did you get Gibson used to jumping into and on the truck? My dogs are putting on the brakes getting into my new truck.

As far as I am concerned, this could be the Gibson blog. I love watching him grow up and learning new things. I think after Barnheart comes out you should start a Gibson book.

Cindy: I lifted him up onto the pumpkins back there, for tim to take photos. But he usually jumps right into the bed or front seat or wherever I put him. Annie does too. But Jazz hates cars. I think they are like us, and some love 'em, and some hate 'em.
