I love rainy days. It takes the pressure off to be outside and finishing garden related chores. With summer winding down, I feel as if I need to be outside every second because the cold weather will be here in a few weeks.
Raining cats and dogs and frogs here. And the ceiling is leaking here in my computer room. Yippee. And we have a 2nd floor. We already have some flooding going on. It did not rain a drop here the whole month of Aug. I guess we need to catch up.
I think I will go in my room on my comfy chair and knit awhile too.
are you getting hammered again today??? We got a very heavy rain last night, but none since then. I'm OK with a rainy day, 'cuz I have an indoor list....and a good book and some knitting! Have a good day. Back to the grind for you tomorrow
Intense rain has settled in here too. That's been the norm this year...
But intense rain always reminds me of the worst weather day ~ the day it rained inside the old farm house.
The torrential downpour seemed to have arrived with a determined purpose. Cold enough for the furnace to attempt to run (you know I set it back to 50. No furnace will ever run in JUNE as long as I'm standing, lol)!
As the rain endlessly pounded I discovered water running down a first floor wall. It was coming from the second floor. From the second floor I discovered it was origniating from the attic. You know well the "pit of your stomach this is not good" feeling that wrapped itself around me. The feeling that was my companion as I pressed forward to deal in whatever way possible...
An attic crawl revealed the leak was exterior and nothing I could repair. A section of the ceiling lathe and plaster on the second floor were no longer joined. Keys had let go and that was that. (An elegant plastic container to catch still flowing water as I'd placed in the attic also was the only fix to be tendered there).
Two floors of soaked plaster walls that I managed to keep intact (most likely more thanks to 5 layers of old wallpaper I'd not yet removed than my efforts! lol) were my only victory that day.
What connection does this have to kitting?!? The simple truth that on that cold wet disasterous day if I'd HAD knitting needles I may well have thrown myself upon them roflmao. Lucky for me I don't (yet) knit :-)
PS My first comment but I have long enjoyed your writings. Your journey shared amid the honesty and insights you weave within your words are profoundly encouraging!
Enjoy the story of a young writer living in Washington County with her fancy dogs, sheep, lots of chickens, fiber & meat rabbits, geese, ducks, turkeys, a hive and a garden. Expect to hear a lot about mountain music, the civil war, local food, and my friends along the way. It's a big time folks.

No rain here today, although it looks like it wants to. Temps finally down into the low 70's, time to open all the windows and make lasagna! :)
Enjoy your rainy knitting day!
Blessings,
Debi

Same here. I anticipate an amphibious visitor this evening.

It's very dreary and rainy here today as well--a perfect day, in my opinion, considering it was 99F two days ago.
I have been crocheting (I crochet much better than I knit.) I finished a hat to felt this afternoon.
That's the same way I view weather maps!
Cast On!
Yes, yarn and pumpkin pie spice coffee.
