hey csa members!
I got the call from the Mill today. Looks like 17 pounds of Sal, Maude, Marvin and Joseph's wool will be here soon! Everyone who subscribed will be getting a package just in time for the holidays and depending on the haul, I may open up a few more spots for new subscribers (which will be picked by a lottery if anyone is still interested). I can't wait to see what folks knit from Maude!

Jenna, if you do open up some csa spots....I definitely want to be included in the lottery or whatever you decide. Funny thing is that tonight while driving home I thought about you and wondered whether the yarn had come back from the mill yet.
Keeping my fingers crossed that I'll get to knit with some of Coldantler's yarn.

dk, even if the csa can't fill up, I will sell or do a giveaway some here on the blog.
If there is a lottery I will announce it and all you need to do is comment and i have a coworker randomly select them by pointing at the screen while I roll through all the comments at break-neck speed... it's really, really, just luck who will get it.
Yes, please put me in the lottery too!
Can you consider this my entry in to the lottery, or do I have to wait untikl you see what you have?
Jenna: I'm thrilled to hear that I'm that much closer to having some of Maud's yarn to knit with - I found a neat hat pattern on Spiderwoman's blog and gave it a dry run using Lion Brand wool blend chunky and i love the results - so will send you a picture when the yarn gets here and gets knit up. I also checked out thrummed mittens for next year's share which will include roving.
I am still interested. You have my email address.
Christmas comes early!! Can't wait to get my hands on Cold Antler Yarn!
Can't wait!!! I seriously need to knit myself a warmer beanie but have been too busy spinning for the kids. Yippee.
I definitely want to be included in the lottery too!

Just ran into this on Amazon. Have you read it? The Dirty Life: On Farming, Food, and Love (Hardcover)
by Kristin Kimball I think it will be another Christmas present to me.
I'll look into it doglady! Is it on audiobook?
Your a woman after my own heart, audio books while you drive. That's how I travel from Maine to NY and back. It doesn't appear to be available in anything but hardback and kindle version.
Comment comment comment! Please include me in the bid.
Comment comment comment! I just read through your book made from scratch this weekend. Loved it!
Please include me in the lotto.
Thank you.
Don't Let's Go to the Dogs Tonight by Alexandra Fuller is amazing and i strongly encourage you to listen to that book on tape...as is Andre Agassis book Open if you want to switch it up.
Good luck with the CSA! Have you done a "cost effective analysis" on owning 3 sheep and what you get back from wool? ...even if just for personal use? I'm tempted, but that means giving up field space that my dogs currently romp in...but if the upside out weighs that downside i might bite the bullet.
i also rent and while i'd love to be there for years to come...you never know. for you all in the sheep world, are they relatively easy to resell if need be?
Definitely interested!!!!
I would definitely want to be included! I would love to have some wool from your animals!
I'm reading The Dirty Life right now. It's so great and much of the writing reminds me of yours Jenna. You'll love reading it if you can get your hands on it!
please add me to the lottery ...
thanks,
Not sure if there are spots open, but would love to be added to the lottery / considered for csa openings if possible. Thanks for all you do!
If there are any open CSA spots, please mark me down.
I just love your blog Jenna. It makes me smile and sigh.
