hot off the press!

My advanced copy of Chick Days came in, and what a rush to hold in your hands the finished product of many months of work! Chick Days is a beginner's guide to raising birds, filled with stories, music, and photographs of Cold Antler as well as three special chicks in Williamstown, Massachusetts. The real hero of this book is Mars, the photographer, his work is enchanting and made this how-to book something else. It comes out in late December/January and you can pre-order it from your local indie store, just ask the people at the front desk. They know what is up.

The revolution will be molting!

I will definitely pre-order this book. Just a few days ago I finished reading 'made from scratch' and I LOVED it!

What breed is the chicken in the photo? The white one with the black and white ruff feathers. We definately need a couple of them for our pet flock.

Dag-nabit! Where was this book 7 weeks ago?! (Which is, incidentally, the age of my new chicks.) Definitely pre-ordering this one.

Dear Jenna,

Congratulations on the book. Books are always a huge amount of work, and I hope sales take it to best-seller.

With respect, would you mention that it it possible to 'pre-order' a book at any independently owned retail bookstore? Such stores have access to publishing schedules and availability lists. Also, staff usually the time and cheerfulness to have a conversation with people who are interested enough in this topic to want to pre-order; we love talking about neat stuff like this!

It's pretty obvious that I work at an independent, isn't it?

Thanks for your blog. It keeps me inspired. Best personal regards,

Maureen

Amazing, congratulations! I never cease to be amazed at all the work you do *outside* of your 9-to-5 (or 8-to-5) work day.

Hi Jenna,

I'd like to contact you about some research I'm doing on rural bloggers, but I can't seem to find an email address anywhere. Would you contacting me so that I can ask a few questions?

Thank you,
Anthony

It would be cool if you could do some book signings in the area! The Book House in Stuyvesant Plaza hosts some, and Borders in Saratoga does, too.

Jenna, if we order direct from you do you get to keep more of the $$? All due respect to indie booksellers, who's stores I could practically live in ;) There are some blogging authors who love it when you order direct. Just wondering.
