the flock on the hill at dusk

the big one

I just want to be a shepherd on a hill. That's my life's goal.
A flock of sheep.

Congratulations. Now that you've achieved your life's goal at such a young age, what's next? I know you're not going to rest with that accomplished. It's a rhetorical question of course, but it'll be interesting to see where life drives you from here.

ha, what's next is getting the place ready for a breeding flock of ewes, scottish blackface, and training my dog to work them with me, and then making a living off writing, farming, and good food.

that's the real goal. the sheep are the enablers.

Someday in your future I see a cookbook of your homegrown recipes/techniques. When you take pictures of your dishes for this blog take just a few extra of the process for a file that reads "Future Cookbook." :) It would be great. But not this Spring!

Okay, so after you got the farm and made the big announcement here, I decided I would write a little tune for you - just for the fun of it and also you're a fiddler and could play it if'n you wanted. Anyway, I'm mid way through putting this little tune together and a name popped into my head - Sheep on the Hill.
After reading this post, I'm glad that tune name popped in.

I've got it halfway there (the tune, that is) and I'll pop it on a video when I'm satisfied with it.

AWESOME! I recently came across an old wish-list from a few years ago. I had to sit down on the floor, I was so stunned that while I'd forgotten about the list, I'd managed to accomplish almost everything on it in the space of a couple years.

When you write it down, it will come...
