Next weekend I'll be in Manchester for sure, doing laundry and errands and such. I was thinking with so many readers in the local area, we should get together. Want to have a CAF meet-up at the Northshire Bookstore? Nothing formal, just coffee and talking. They have good local food and we can get together to talk about our interests in homesteading, talk about farm issues, or just laugh with caffeine. It'll be warm and toasty in there and we can bring knitting, photos, or fiddles that need tuning. I think it'll be fun and a nice break from all the crazy holiday shopping and running around going on in town. So if you want to get together, let's meet at the bookstore in Manchester at noon next Sunday (RSVP in the comments please). No requirements to own chickens or a cow to attend.
Me too! And if you ever get over to Washington, let us know - I think there are a bunch of us that read your blog, and you know we have plenty of good coffee here! ;)
Just another reason to kick myself for leaving the Adirondacks. I would have gladly drove three and a half hours to have coffee with you. Hope you all have a great time. Please post pictures.
Know that I will be there in thought and spirit. Hope those in the area take you up on the idea in my stead. If you are ever in my area (if you are ever offered a book signing deal in or around Shreveport, LA...we are not too far from Dallas) you are welcome to stay with me.
Jenna, I can't say yet for sure. Ask again in a post closer to the date, because this is sure to get bumped off the main page.
I will be 45 minutes north of Manchester that Friday, but my place is unheated -- which is no big deal on the sunny days -- and I was thinking I'd head back to NY the same day. (I have to be there because the town is doing new property appraisals.)
It's best to say if you're doing it anyway, I'll try to be there. But if you're judging it based on interest, best not to include me since I'm iffy.
This city girl would be there in a second, if only I could. I'll be thinking of you from (hopefully rainy) L.A. , and hoisting my coffee mug remotely. Yes, please post pix!
Too funny as I'm from Washington also and I would love to be able to come chat with you, but alas as Donna said its time for you to visit us over here :)
Hey! If any CAF readers in Washington want to get together for a pot luck in January - let me know - maybe we can put something over here together! (I hope it's okay for me to post that Jenna).
Enjoy the story of a young writer living in Washington County with her fancy dogs, sheep, lots of chickens, fiber & meat rabbits, geese, ducks, turkeys, a hive and a garden. Expect to hear a lot about mountain music, the civil war, local food, and my friends along the way. It's a big time folks.

Jenna, I would be there in a heartbeat if I did not live so far away. Have fun and a cup of coffee for me.

Oh, that sounds wonderful, but I'm stuck in NJ. Enjoy!

I love Northshire books!
I was just up in VT last week for Thanksgiving! Wish our timing was better - I'd love to have attended.
Next time!
I wish Indiana was closer to Vermont!
Looks like you'll have to do a nationwide tour =))
Make that a world tour....we read CAF in Australia too,LOL !!!
So how close is Denver to Vermont?
