we have goslings!!!
Came home from work today to find three healthy goslings under Saro's wing! She still has two more eggs there, unhatched, but what a rush to scoop up this small life into my hands and know it's here only because I set up the circumstances. The mother is doing well, and if anyone is looking for a pair of French farm geese...inquire here. More soon...

CONGRATULATIONS!!! How was mama goose about you fitching a baby?
Awwweeee...too cute. Ya, I was wondering how Mama Goose felt about you scooping up her brood myself...
Oh, congratulations! That is wonderful. Do you have to worry about keeping them warm, at this time of year? Good luck on the other two...
Congratulations! They are so sweet! We are trying to pass chickens in town and I hope to be the proud mama of something that cute! It's no goose but hey, I'll take what I can get!
CONGRATS!

Congrats! How cute, what a wonderful thing to come home to.
Woohoo! There be geese in here!
Oh, congratulations! the little one is adorable!
WOW it looks so much bigger than the chicks, but hey, the eggs are bigger, so I guess that just make sense!! I was thinking they were all little chickie sized when they were born, but these are super chickie sized!! You'll have that. I think I need some sleep.
I am so happy for you and your babies. We had baby angoras about a month ago and eight of them are alive and well. I read your book last week and it's so nice that you're here.
YEAH for Pretty Saro!
Congrats Jenna!
It is an amazing feeling to know you had a part in the creation of that little life even if was via the intro, room and board!

Awesome! Congratulations to you and mama. Isn't life a miracle?
Congratulations!!! I LOVE baby geese. I find them so much more affectionate and fun than baby chicks. It makes me wish that I could have some again. Maybe someday.....
Congratulations Jenna! and Saro and Cyrus!
What a wonderful thing to come home to today. Too bad it's not Friday yet -or maybe you need to stay home tomorrow?
what a blessing! SSSSSOOOOOO cute! Congratulations to you and to Momma Goose, Daddy goose needs a high five too I think... Thanks for sharing this with all of us!
Yay!!!! Thats so exciting! Congratulations! Now, if only she could hatch those from the CFL's she was so fond of last year.... ;)
How fun! Babies seem to make it all worth it...
OMG- that could very well be the CUTEST thing I have ever seen!!!! I want one!! Or five!!
So does this make you Grandmother Goose?
Big time congrats Jenna!!!
We have five! Five goslings! Only one egg remains, which may be a dud because it takes Saro a few days to really collect enough to sit still... going to buy a new heat lamp and geese chick feed and move them into a brooder indoors. They are one lucky bunch to be born in a November heat wave.... it's nearly 55 degrees out there and raining.
Doesn't it REALLY feel like a farm when you have babies born on it from stock you raised yourself?
Maude: Pay attention!
Jenna, I am so very happy for you, lovely Saro and the handsome Cyrus (can't get the pic of the two of them walking down the road out of my mind). I hope all the lovely little goslings do well!!! What a blessing! Chris
Yeah! I wish I lived closer...and had a farm. Those geese would so be mine. ;)
Hooray! Agreed - I'd take them too if I weren't so far away.
You're a Grandma!!!!
Welcome to ColdAntler Farm, little ones! Lucky little babies, they are.
Congratulations!!
Congrats!
Congratualtions!!!!!!! :o) how exciting!! I'm betting Saro will be a great Mom...
Have a great weekend - you'll certaily have much to be thankful for with these new babies! ;o)
Just curious why you don't let Cyrus and Saro take care of the goslings themselves? Too risky with predators or bad mothering or...?
Because in a few days it'll be 18 degrees at night and these goslings are not meant to be hatched in winter...usually they'd hatch in the spring. I could let them go, but all that has to happen is one gets a chill and it's dead.
Congrats Cyrus and Saro! Oh, and you too, Jenna!
I will add my congratulations to all the others!! It must feel great to have a hand in bringing new life to your farm.
What a terrific event to herald Thanksgiving!
better buy the geese a calendar for next time : ) Any chance we can get a pic of all five?
Congratulations, mama!
Oh how sweet! I love the light.
Goslings are some of the cutest baby critters in the world.
