Keep it, please! We've had snow 4 times here already, and below zero one day (Oct. 4). We had January in October and now that November has arrived, it finally feels like fall, which makes me happy.
The first winter after I moved from Florida to Oregon, we had flurries and I was as giddy as a kid, I was so excited! Then the next year, which was last year, we had a couple of freak snow storms back to back that dumped fourteen inches. Portland, Oregon is not set up for snow. Rain, yes, snow- no. They don't have enough plows to deal with it. What a mess. It took me two hours to get to work and two and a half to get home, by bus. It didn't help that my boss was from Alaska and had little sympathy. Make that zero sympathy. I was so stressed out my back turned into one giant knot. I think I am done with snow.
But- you have mush dogs and are set up for a good time, so I think that counts for a lot. If you take your truck, don't forget to load up the back with sand bags- you'll need the traction. And have fun.
We might actually see some snow, since it is supposed to be a colder, wetter winter than normal for us, but when we do get it, it usually doesn't come until January. I miss it.
We had snow here this morning, but it was the wet kind that soon turned to rain, I don't think it counts as the first snow, but the weather is steadily getting colder. I hope you find everything snow covered soon, if not already!
I drove through some on my way to work this morning, but when you drop over the hill and are near Lake Erie, it warms up, so I don't know what I'll find when I get home. These people don't know what winter is really like over that hill!!!
crikey! snow here is so rare, this year we had deep snow for 5 days in February, those days will stay with me forever it was so damned magical :o) Hope you got a dusting & got some photos GTM x
When ever there is the slimmest chance of snow my boys wear their PJ's inside out and backwards. It's suppose to bring on the snow. My eldest is praying for snow here in Portland. We don't always get it but he is firm in his belief that his every own prayers will be answered by the snow gods. And I am not one to burst any bubbles.Bring it on! We want some snow too!
Enjoy the story of a young writer living in Washington County with her fancy dogs, sheep, lots of chickens, fiber & meat rabbits, geese, ducks, turkeys, a hive and a garden. Expect to hear a lot about mountain music, the civil war, local food, and my friends along the way. It's a big time folks.

Okay, so I crossed my fingers AND toes. Did you get the snow you'd hoped for? If so, were Jazz and Annie excited?

I'm with Ava Apple! It's a beautiful fall day here in Ky, but come winter it's nothing but rain and ice. This N.Y. girl misses her snow!
