Enjoy the story of a young writer living in Washington County with her fancy dogs, sheep, lots of chickens, fiber & meat rabbits, geese, ducks, turkeys, a hive and a garden. Expect to hear a lot about mountain music, the civil war, local food, and my friends along the way. It's a big time folks.

Naked sheep!
Who's that lookin' all cute? NIce haircut kids!
Oh my. Adorable! This may be a stupid question but...do you have to put flea/tick medicine on sheep?
Ahhhh bless!! Who is in the first photo with the little naked belly and pained expression?
WOW! What a difference huh?
They look so cute naked!
Carrie - you do have to worry about flies and such, but not so much fleas and ticks. They should have a respectable amount of anti-fly fleece on them by that time in June though. If not you have to watch for things like fly strike, which sucks.
SK -That's marvin in the belly shot!
I was going to ask the same thing about the first shot. Poor Marvin, he looks so ashamed. heehee
They look so fresh and new with their hair cuts! What are you gonna do with the wool?
Oh, they look so content grazing when it's all said and done. And how funny that Maude ended up being the relaxed one?!
I've been seeing the Jon Katz sheep shearing blog posts. Just recently discovered your blog after reading MEN April/May '09 issue.
